Dr. Dzifa Kpodzo is a trailblazer in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery, having made history as the first African American woman to graduate from Harvard’s prestigious Combined Plastic Surgery Residency Program. As chief resident, she honed her skills through participation in groundbreaking face transplant surgeries, showcasing her commitment to advancing surgical techniques. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Kpodzo is deeply engaged in the academic community, serving on the editorial board of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and contributing to various professional societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Her research focuses on critical areas such as breast reconstruction, health care disparities, and surgical education, reflecting her dedication to improving patient outcomes.
