Dr. Gary Arishita, a dedicated surgeon with a rich tapestry of experience, has cultivated a profound expertise in plastic and reconstructive surgery, particularly in breast reconstruction. Raised in Petaluma, California, he graduated with high honors in Physiology from the University of California, Davis, before earning his medical degree from the F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine while serving in the U.S. Air Force.
His surgical journey began with a general surgery residency at David Grant USAF Medical Center, where he contributed to innovative research on breast cancer diagnostics. Transitioning to plastic surgery at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, he honed his skills in hand and microsurgery, completing a fellowship at the Kleinert Institute. Dr. Arishita's military career spanned 25 years, during which he led numerous free flap breast reconstructions, influencing protocols for breast cancer treatment within the Air Force.
