R. Jobe Fix, MD

Dr. R. Jobe Fix, MD, FACS, is an esteemed Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery at UAB, where he skillfully integrates teaching with a robust clinical practice. Operating out of multiple facilities, including The Kirklin Clinic and Children’s Hospital of Alabama, he specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgeries, particularly breast reconstruction and hand surgery. His expertise in advanced microsurgical techniques, notably the T.R.A.M. and D.I.E.P. flap procedures, has set him apart in the field.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Dr. Fix has completed extensive training, including residencies at the University of California Valley Medical Center. He is board-certified in Plastic Surgery, Surgery of the Hand, and General Surgery. Beyond his clinical achievements, Dr. Fix is deeply committed to humanitarian work, having participated in over 17 medical missions to Ecuador, focusing on treating congenital anomalies in underserved populations.
