Dr. Thomas Mustoe, MD, FACS, is a visionary in the field of plastic surgery, celebrated for his pioneering contributions to facial and breast reconstruction, aesthetic surgery, and wound healing. His extensive research has fueled advancements that resonate in medical literature, with over 240 published articles and book chapters, as well as numerous presentations at global plastic surgery conferences.
An alumnus of Washington University, Dr. Mustoe quickly ascended to the role of associate professor, before taking on the prestigious position of professor and chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University in 1991—making him the youngest surgeon in the country to achieve this honor. Under his leadership, the plastic surgery residency program flourished, becoming one of the most sought-after in the nation.
